Bullying Prevention Program
Child & Family Services Restorative Justice department is available to tailor a Bullying Prevention
Program to meet the needs of your school. Program staff have been trained in the Olweus Bullying
Prevention Program which is a comprehensive, school-wide program designed for use in elementary,
middle, or junior high schools. Its goals are to reduce and prevent bullying problems among school children
and to improve peer relations at school. The program has been found to reduce bullying among children, improve the social
climate of classrooms, and reduce related antisocial behaviors, such as vandalism and truancy.
The Olweus Program has been implemented in more than one dozen countries around the world.

Team Approach:
Program Staff partner with the school to develop a program to meet the needs of the school.
Meetings are held prior to implementation with school social workers, teachers, principal,
and other interested faculty.
Three Levels of Service:
School-Wide
Survey of School Bullying Issues/Needs. Completed by students and faculty.
Assembly
Teacher Presentation/Training
Parent Presentation/Training
Classroom
All classrooms receive the same interactive presentations per week.
Individual
Individual interventions to include mediation, Victim Offender Conferencing or Peacemaking Circles.
