Community Dispute Resolution (Mediation)
A community-based forum for the resolution of disputes that might otherwise become
civil, family and criminal courts cases. Using a roster of trained, volunteer mediators,
this program provides mediation services for a wide range of disputes including
those between landlords and tenants, ex-boyfriends and girlfriends, family members,
juveniles, consumers and merchants, parents and school personnel and many others
where an ongoing relationship is involved. Courts, police, agencies and individuals
make referrals to this program. Services are available in Erie, Niagara, Genesee,
Orleans, Wyoming, Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. There is usually
no cost to participants in this program.
