Annual Giving/Special Projects Intern
Internship Description:
Will work with Annual Giving Coordinator and the development staff in planning and implementing components of the department’s annual giving and special projects programs. Duties for this internship include:
- Working with the Annual Giving Coordinator in the development, implementation and evaluation of the annual giving solicitation program and the upcoming Fall Campaign to be launched in November
- Researching/copy writing case statement , solicitation letters, and promotional materials
- Working with community volunteers and members of the agency’s Board of Directors involved with the Fall Campaign Committee
- Researching potential prospects for donor acquisition
- Assisting in data management of donor/prospect lists and gift tracking for Fall Campaign, fundraising activities and other projects
- Making contacts to organize a select number of community fundraising events to benefit Child & Family Services
Schedule:15 hours average per week is desired. Hours are flexible.
Qualifications:Excellent organizational and verbal communication skills; excellent writing and word processing skills; must demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-motivation; ability to work with community volunteers and staff at all levels within the organization.
Training Offered: The internship provides an opportunity to use communication/public relations skills while working with fund raising professionals in a field that is growing rapidly and offers diverse employment opportunities. A broad range of “hands-on” work experience is involved in this internship. Development staff will work with the intern on all phases of projects as needed to complete assignments. The intern will be able to assume progressive responsibilities, refine skills, and work with a number of leaders in the Western New York community. Free parking and expenses reimbursed.
Evaluation:An evaluation to be completed as requested by the intern's advisor and department guidelines.
