Casual Days for Kids...Let's Get Started
Child and Family Services has been dedicated to its mission of strengthening and
improving the lives of women, children and families throughout Western New York
for more than 134 years. As the number of individuals in need of our services escalates,
so does our need for funding. In order to continue providing the 41+ programs we
offer to vulnerable individuals throughout the community, we need your help. By
hosting a “Casual Days for Kids” event, your school or business will help our organization
continue its mission of care and service throughout the region.
What is the “Casual Days for Kids” program?
“Casual Days for Kids” is a simple, enjoyable fundraising program that can be scheduled
by your school or business at any point throughout the year. Students, teachers
and employees are asked to make a recommended donation of a dollar or more to participate
in the scheduled “dress down” day. On the scheduled day, participants arrive wearing
their favorite casual clothing and are given a sticker to wear. Other options include
hosting a school color day, a pajama day, or any other theme day. Be creative! As
with all donations, 100% of the funds raised through this program will stay local
to directly benefit our neighbors in need throughout the Western New York area.
What else is involved?
Once your organization has decided to go “Casual for a Cause,” Child & Family Services
will provide a “Casual Days for Kids” kit which includes all the materials you will
need to make your event a success. This kit contains: promotional posters announcing
your scheduled event, participant stickers, and money collection envelopes. The
kit should be given to a contact person selected from within your organization.
This contact person will typically handle event responsibilities, including: displaying
the posters throughout the building, distributing participant stickers, distributing
and collecting the money collection envelopes, calculating total funds collected,
and presenting the donation check to Child & Family Services.
When and how can my school or business sign up?
As always, your organization may schedule a “Casual Days for Kids” event for any
day or days throughout the entire year. You may schedule as few or as many event
days as you would like to host. Some organizations choose to support us for a whole
month by scheduling event days on every Monday or Friday of a particular month.
If your school or business would like to participate, please call Ms. Rosanne Wisniewski

Kids and Companies Go Casual for a Cause
Each year, schools and businesses throughout the Western New York Community help
improve the lives of local women, children and families in need by participating
in the “Casual Days for Kids” program. The program is an easy and enjoyable way
for students and employees to give back to the community by raising funds for the
more than 41 programs provided by Child & Family Services.
Several area schools participated in the 2007 “Casual Days for Kids” program. The
students at Bishop Timon – St. Jude High School, Immaculata Academy and Mount St.
Mary Academy raised a combined total of more than $850. In addition, HSBC Retirement
Financial Services held an event each Friday throughout the month of February. During
this month-long program, employees donated an impressive $525. HSBC’s Matching Gift
program doubled the size of this contribution, for a total donation of $1,050. These
organizations raised a grand total of more than $1,900, making 2007’s program an
overwhelming success!
We extend a heartfelt thank-you to those who participated in 2007. Your generous
donations allow Child & Family Services to continue its mission of improving lives
and shaping bright futures through the programs we offer.
You can help too! We invite all area schools and businesses to participate in this
simple and rewarding program. As always, the funds raised stay right here to help
our neighbors in Western New York. For more information about this program or to
schedule your own event, please contact Ms. Rosanne Wisniewski at 882-0555, Ext.
